EN: The project “The City Is Open Source” is a child of the City Hacking Academy that started in 2013 (find impressions and documentations of that projects on its website.)

The City Is Open Source makes progress, it moves away from the more general approach of the City Hacking Academy towards a more specific question: A for circular processes and freedom designed city built open source? …

The choice and combination of Open Source, Circular Economy and Freedom has its own logic. And it is what interests me the most right now anyway as you can also see in my involvement in the Open Source Circular Economy Days (OSCEdays) – a global event, hackathon and community around it. City Hacking is just another tech to experiment and research the question and to communicate my interest in it. Because of my involvement in the OSCEdays this project uses the forums of the OSCEdays for some things – to experiment the OSCEdays further and vice versa.

This Project – The City Is Open Source – became possible because i was invited by the Kultursekretariat Gütersloh and the Cities Viersen and Minden thanks to a recommendation by Josef Spiegel to be part of the “Stadtbesetzung” – Project. That created the resources to start the it. Thank you.

The City Is Open Source macht einen Entwicklungsschritt.

Vielen Dank! 🙂
